Frequently Asked Questions

COVID-19 Delivery Schedule Changes

Due to the effects of COVID-19, and to ensure the safety of our customers and employees, we are currently offering a limited delivery schedule. As the situation evolves, we will keep customers informed of the changes with the goal of returning to normality as soon as possible. Please contact us for specific information related to your area. We appreciate your support and patience during this unprecedented and stressful time.

What are your delivery days? How many days a week do you deliver?

We provide next day delivery to most major centres within our service area five days a week including uninterrupted delivery service on statutory holidays. We service rural areas approximately twice per week. Let’s connect and we can provide you more specific details for your area and your operation. Our service area includes all of Southwestern Ontario and the Niagara Peninsula. From Windsor to Guelph, Burlington to Niagara Falls, Goderich to Port Dover and everything in between such as London, Chatham, Sarnia, Woodstock, and Stratford, we’ve got you covered!

How can I place orders?

The method in which we receive your order is entirely up to you, the customer.

Our most popular method is one where our professional sales staff visits you in person, not only to take your order, but to help with your business. If that process is not the most effective for you based on your busy schedule, you can call in your order to your representative or to our Customer Service department.

What is the Ontario Grass Roots program and how did it start?

Being a third generation Ontario Company ourselves, we recognize the value in supporting local businesses from within our own communities. With this in mind, the Ontario Grass Roots Program was created to celebrate and further promote some of Ontario’s best producers.

The Ontario Grass Roots Program now has 16 different product categories – each having strict guidelines in regards to quality, resource management, raw material standards, environmental impacts, and processing. Before becoming one of our partners, a thorough analysis of each vendor is completed assuring our customers will receive the best quality products that Ontario can offer at a price that provides value for the end user.

Do you deliver on statutory holidays?

Morton Food Service offers delivery on statutory holidays by maintaining our regular delivery schedule. We understand the value of consistency and recognize the off-hour demands of the foodservice business.

How do I get a sample?

Morton Food Service and its vendor partners are proud of the quality of their products and are happy to provide samples for the right opportunities. A sample can be requested by speaking to your sales representative.

Do you have the ability to secure prices on commodity items (Wings, Beef, etc…) for an extended period of time?
Yes we do. Our team of professional buyers scan the market on a daily basis in order to find the best deals for our customers. In this way and others we can help you better manage your food cost.
How long does it take to get special orders?
Although special order availability varies by vendor, the average lead time is approximately two weeks.
How long after I fill out my application form can I place an order?
The average length of time to process an application is five days from its submission to your sales representative.
What time will my order come?
Your order will be delivered on the next delivery day to your area. The time of delivery will be based on your requirements and how these requirements fit into our overall routing obligations. Once we establish how your location fits within our routing system, we commit to a two hour window for delivery.
What do I do if I need/want a product that you don't carry?

We have 4650 stocked and just-in-time products available for next day delivery. That being said, if there is an item that is key to your operation that we don’t currently carry, we will make every reasonable attempt to either secure the item for our inventory or arrange an ongoing special order. This will be determined by both the volume associated with the product and the frequency of its delivery to Morton Food Service from the vendor.

Do you carry the same items as other broad line distributors?
Every distributor tends to carry similar staple products in addition to their distributor-specific items. Morton is proud to provide our customers with brand name products that your customers recognize and associate with quality as well as a large selection of unique products from our local producers.
What do I do if there is a problem with my order?
If there is a problem with your order, your best contact point is always your sales representative. We strive to deliver every order perfectly the first time but recognize that issues may arise. We will take every step in our power to rectify any issues as soon as possible.

Morton is ready to help your independent business thrive and grow.

If you’re interested in partnering with us, we’d love to meet. Please contact us and we’ll be in touch shortly to arrange an initial meeting.
