Tyler DeSantis has worked in food service for over a decade, moving up from a sales rep to Morton’s head of business development. He currently manages our Central Region, which includes Woodstock, Sarnia, London, Grand Bend and the surrounding areas. Tyler is an active guy who loves to keep busy, play golf and listen to music. Here’s what Tyler had to say about working with Morton Food Service.

How would you describe the Morton difference to existing and potential customers?

We strive to be our customers’ business partner where we help them succeed every day. We do this by providing local product at competitive pricing, sampling product aimed towards the customer’s needs, delivering unmatched customer service, menu design and print, as well as providing food costing and analysis.

How does Morton work as a team to help independent restaurants thrive?

We provide each customer with excellent service and the tools they need to get the business to the next level.

In your experience, what value does this collaborative approach to client service provide to foodservice operators?

When you bring value to a customer, it earns their loyalty and trust so you can both get to the same goal of making our customers successful.

What previous experience do you have in food service, and how do your knowledge and skills help support independent operators?

I have 11 years of experience in the business including time as a rep, as the head of business development and now a regional manager.

Tell us about a time you went above and beyond to help a customer.

When a customer was short staff I went in at 5:30 am for three straight weekends and cooked bacon for them as it was a busy breakfast restaurant.

What is the best part of your job?

My favourite part about working with Morton has been gaining long-lasting friendships with my customers that live long outside the walls of their business.
